It was about illegal immigrants, and how they are coming to America for work. They are standing up and down the streets of Georgia looking for work. I hear reports of a mother saying how our children deserve the right to an education in America. Why is it that people feel to get symphony or their point across they need to include the children. No one wants to see children be so unfortunate in life. I have no problem if you are a citizen of this country and working, paying taxes and everything everyone else does to give their kids the world. But coming into our country and trying to pass off as a citizen, not paying taxes; that's where I have a problem.
I am not trying to be political or discriminative towards anyone, but if you are not a citizen you should not be getting any type of benefits from our country. http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2001/7/16/161925.shtml

Everyone sees us as the land of opportunity, but we have our own problems to deal with.

Ok, back to all the FCC being objective about anything being shown on television these days. Penn&Teller have a new show coming out on Showtime, there is a lot of talk about not being able to use the actual title of it because of the name bullshit. I mean c'mon this is cable where they can get away with more than regular TV can. I see nothing wrong with it. There is so much more worse things on television, radio and even in print these days to expose anyone to "bad language" Does the FCC now feel the right to get more involved than they need to in every aspect of our lives? Yes, now days everyone seems to have one but this one is built without a normal key pad. It is built with only certain number of keypads that you (the parent) can save only the numbers that your child can call. This will cut down on the ability of children not using the phone to talk to friends. It comes already with a 911 button and then the parent's can put in their numbers to be reached at. So that the child can directly reach them when they need to.
This is a type of phone I am all for the children having.

http://www.usatoday.com/printedition/life/20050309/d_cellphone09.art.htm

Oprah did it, why can't Dave?

A call everyone should have to deal with, jury duty. They made fat fatter. http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/2005-03-27-burger-king_x.htm

From the Entertainment page of the Associated Press dated March 29, 2005.

There is yet to be another "crap" I mean a reality show to come to television in the Fall of '05. Can somebody please do something about all this? http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/ap/817176411.html?did=817176411&FMT=ABS&FMTS=FT&date=Mar+28%2C+2005&author=&desc=MTV%2C+Seventeen+magazine+joining+forces+for+reality+series
I am tired of everyone and their grandmother are getting a reality show. We only have hundreds to choose from, I choose none of them. You have ones looking for "true love" ones looking to destroy relationships that were strong, and others looking to do anything for a million dollars. Didn't you ever hear of the phrase "If it sounds too good to be true, it is?" Who really believes that these shows are the real thing. Please, in some way shape or form these shows have been fixed to keep viewers tuned in. Then the production and editing teams use their magic to make things look real and believable. Then there are the shows that are to help people improve their own self-esteem.
I was watching an episode of The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch, he had prior contestants from the Swan. These women were trying to say that they had high self-esteem about themselves before all the surgery happened to them. And now after everything that has changed about their appearance they still have the same esteem as before. What a bunch of b***s***. To me these women had to have some issues to be apart of a show where you get surgery to alter your appearance, then go to a competition verses others from the show.

I still think Budweiser should have played the commercial in Superbowl '05. The one that lead up to the infamous event. You know, the one with the backstage man getting himself a beer and using the outfit as a bottle opener. Then he uses tape and gum to try to hold the outfit together. He is watching the half time show in the dressing room and sees what happened. I think it was funny and should of been shown. http://www.anticlown.com/video.php?path=/archives/budcommercial.wmv I believe that is part of advertising is to go outside the box and push a few buttons on the way. I'm like people get real, all of the people who called to complain about this public display, saying it was not something that should have been shown on TV during a public entertainment show. these people should really be more interested in what their kids already see on TV. These are the people who already buy thier kids video games that you have to kill, steal and hurt others to get ahead in the game. There are far more worse things already seen on TV than this quarter of a second peep show. Now with this people are wanting the FCC to step in and watch for better programs for the families to watch. Wait don't they already have their rating system for this (MA, NC-17, R.....etc)? What do you expect for television to raise your kid(s)? Where does your role as a parent come into play? I understand now days both parents have to work to make ends meet. but does that mean giving up time with your children too?

The world needs media, the media needs advertisement to keep the media in production. But within all of this; where does the FCC fit in? How far is too far for each different group to go without making people mad. Good question, whith no good answer. Everyone rates things differently so there is no telling how to rate them all. That is hopefully going to be my focus for this blog, which I have never done one of these before. So if I am doing ok or if this completely sucks, let me know.
--D

Getting things together.

After much crazy times this semester, things are coming together slowly but surely. I mean what other stress can I add to my life. About to graduate, looking for a place to live, a place of employment, figuring out how to pay for insurance on my car (so that I can drive it). Getting done with school successfully and trying to fit more fun in between it all. I am on my path to figuring it all out for now. One day it will be MY DAY, and I will sit back and have some drinks with friends.
-D
